in Laura’s words:

Hi there!
Thank you for taking a minute to stop-by. Let me first introduce myself. I’m a wife to Jason, mom to Ben and Beth and our super chill pup, Jesse. I get most excited about sharing the hope I’ve found in the Lord.

On a typical day you will find me grabbing an iced tea from our local coffee shop, jetting to a basketball game and using that time in the car to make the most of the sweet relationships in my life!

But, that’s not where I started! I started in corporate America when I felt God calling me to leave my window office for a ministry job in a trailer (seriously). I’ve now been involved in ministry for more than twenty years, serving in various roles, but I’ve always loved working with women the most.

I call Friendswood, Texas, “home” but have quickly fallen in love with the people of Rwanda. Yes. ministries has a beautiful partnership with Africa New Life, an organization that seeks to transform the lives of the Rwandan people through preaching the Gospel and acts of compassion. I’d love to tell you more about it and bring you with me to this gorgeous country one day!

What we believe.

JESUS.

We believe in the Authority and Lordship of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, and that through His death on the cross, Jesus bridged the gap between sin and death for anyone who believes in Him.

BIBLE.

We believe the Bible is the inspired, trustworthy, complete, infallible, authoritative Word of God.

TRINITY.

We believe that there is one God, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

SIN.

We believe that everyone is born into sin and as a result faces the judgment of God. We believe through admitting our sin to God and professing our belief and faith in His son, Jesus Christ, we are born again.

SPIRIT.

We believe in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit which enables us as Christians to live out and serve His purposes on Earth. We believe in forgiveness because of the grace we have experienced through Jesus Christ.

CHURCH.

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers who profess Jesus Christ as Lord and that all Christians, no matter age, gender, race or ethnicity, are all members of His body, the church.

Our board

I never imagined I’d start and lead a non-profit ministry. Yes. ministries began in 2016, and to become a 501(c)3 non-profit, I had to have a board of directors. I began to pray and ask God who He was bringing to create this ministry team, and, one by one, each woman’s name became clear to me. Without hesitation, I made the ask to each one of them, trusting that God knew exactly why they were a crucial link in this chain. To my amazement, each one said, “Yes” and we’ve been together ever since. The women you see in this photograph bring unique gifts to our team. They are all very different, all very strong, and all very kind. I could go on and on about each one of them, but I’ll give you one word to describe these incredible humans.

Nona Landers - Wise
Michelle Biggs - Capable
Breanna Hansen - Encouraging
Sherrill Garland - Resourceful

The Yes. ministries Board of Directors are called individually and collectively with me to draw women closer to Jesus. And we take our calling very seriously. We trust God to lead us, and we work hard to steward this ministry well so that countless women will grow in their faith. Not only could I not lead this ministry without them, I wouldn’t want to; they are my friends and sisters for life.
